After redesigning the website for Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey, the website for Caregiver Canines® was also redesigned to match its parents program. The clients wanted to keep the website professional but also keep some elements of fun.
It was important to keep this website responsive since the Caregiver Canines® program attracts younger volunteers who are more likely to use various device to view the site.
Keeping it fun
Since Caregiver Canines® is all about dogs and the fun energy they bring to the lives of the program recipients, it was important to try to communicate this with the website as well. In order to do this, I added a slideshow to the front page which can introduce the visitor to the lovable therapy dogs as soon as possible. I also had fun with the 404 page by adding a curious Terrier to the background image.
Internet Explorer Compatibility
As with the Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey website, it was important to keep this site compatible with Internet Explorer 8 and below since the target recipients of the program may still have Windows XP.
